Impact of Disease on Growing Pigs’ Amino Acid Requirements

A total of 40 gilts were used in three experiments to evaluate the impact of disease induced by bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) or PRRSV on immune function measures, as well as protein and AA utilization. In trial 1, AID and protein retention were determined in saline-treated pigs.
