Highlights:
- Wholesale pork prices increase in January, largely because of seasonally lower slaughter during the month
- The value of the pork cutout in the second half of January in the last ten years was up 3% compared to the first half of the month, with prices increasing in nine of the last ten years
- Shipments of US fresh/frozen and cooked pork in November were 180,333 MT, 3.8% higher than the all-time record levels a year ago
- Exports of US pork variety meats have struggled, with exports to China down sharply compared to a year ago
