The Checkoff’s animal science committee recognizes many producers are seeking alternatives to maintaining pig performance following removal of growth-promoting antibiotics. While there are many commercially available products purported to enhance growth, many of these products lack consistency in demonstrating beneficial results. This spreadsheet is the result of project #15-204 that was completed by Nick Gabler and Wes Schweer of Iowa State University. It can be downloaded and then searched for a variety of terms to isolate references to scientific articles that incorporated those terms. For example, searching for “copper” will result in articles that had “copper” as one of the dietary treatments. The use of this spreadsheet can help producers identify compounds that may serve as suitable alternatives to growth-promoting antibiotics.
