The Pork
Act requires that a percentage of the Checkoff funds
collected each year be returned to the state pork
producer associations. On average, about 20 percent of
producer and importer Checkoff receipts are
returned to states and used for state Checkoff-funded
projects. The 44 state pork associations can be a quick,
local contact for individual pork producers.
