Checkoff Investments in Environmental Research Pay Off

Studies like Iowa State University's recent air-quality research highlighted above show how Pork Checkoff investments in environmental issues continue to pay off for producers.

“Since its creation 20 years ago, the Pork Checkoff has funded research that's helping pork producers remain responsible stewards who address environmental issues before they become problems,” said Allan Stokes, director of environmental programs for the Pork Checkoff.

For the past two decades the Checkoff has supported research related to odor control, air emissions and other key environmental issues.

“The air-quality study shows how producers' efforts during the past 20 years are on the right track, and it's one more way the Checkoff continues to help pork producers manage these important issues,” Stokes said.
