Go Team Pork!pork-superbowl-2

The big game is over, but pork continues to score big with consumers. From game-day gatherings to holiday celebrations, the Pork Checkoff has been inspiring people to add flavor and fun to their events and recipes with pork.

“Traditions are great, but taking part in them doesn’t mean you have to do them, well, traditionally,” said Pamela Johnson, director of consumer communications for the Pork Checkoff. “By leveraging new trends, we’re transforming the traditional into something refreshing, surprising and delectable.”

The Pork Checkoff kicked off the season by reinventing favorite game-day dishes to help fans get “bowled over” for the big game. From noodles and high-protein to topping-off greens, flavor-filled bowls are booming and the first trend in focus.

Baker created a Filipino Pork BBQ Bowl (http://www.porkbeinspired.com/recipes/filipino-pork-barbecue-bowl/), which provides a fresh take on barbecue featuring grilled pork tenderloin marinated in a bold, tangy sauce.

The Pork Checkoff also featured Baker’s Spicy Korean-Style Meatball Bowl (http://www.porkbeinspired.com/recipes/spicy-korean-style-meatball-bowl/) on PorkBeInspired.com. This zesty dish combines an array of bold traditional and exotic flavors, from sriracha chili sauce to a glaze with blackberry jam. A total of 18 social posts from Baker, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, resulted in over 700,000 social impressions.

The Pork Checkoff continues to encourage consumers to sample these and other super tasty recipes, party tips and tricks at PorkBeInspired.com and on the Pork Checkoff’s social media channels, including Pinterest which has garnered 1.1million impressions to date and 1,800 repins and 2,400 clicks.
