Consumers have the final word in food safety, and education is the key to ensuring the consumer uses food products safely. With that in mind, the Pork Checkoff offers a wealth of useful educational material to help consumers make informed decisions on meal selection and preparation.
The Pork Checkoff also is a member of Fight!BAC, a program of The Partnership for Food Safety Education. This private-public partnership was created to reduce the incidence of foodborne illness by educating Americans about safe food handling practices. The alliance is committed to making safe food handling meaningful to consumers through communications that are upbeat and foster behavior change. It combines the resources of the federal government, industry and several consumer organizations to conduct a broad-based food safety education campaign designed to reach men, women and children of all ages.
