World Pork Expo As you make your plans for the 2014 World Pork Expo, stay up to date with the handy 2014 World Pork Expo app. It’s the easy way to find everything you’re looking for at this year’s event, which will be held June 4 to 7 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, Iowa.

You can download this free mobile app by searching for “World Pork” in the Apple Store, Android Market or Blackberry’s App World.

While you’re at the World Pork Expo, don’t miss the free lunch at the Pork Checkoff’s Hospitality Tent. We’ll serve lunch starting at noon on Wednesday, June 4, and Thursday, June 5. Breakfast and bacon snacks also will be served daily at the Pork Checkoff Hospitality Tent, which will be located on the north side of the Varied Industries Building.

In addition, the Pork Checkoff Hospitality Tent will be the new location for the noon business luncheons featuring Elwin Taylor, Iowa State University Extension climatologist, and Steve Meyer, president of Paragon Economics, who will present weather and market updates.

When you’re at WPX, also be sure to visit the Pork Checkoff at Booth No. 120 in the Varied Industries Building for updates on Checkoff-funded programs.

PORK Academy Features Full Slate of Producer Seminars
Looking for ways to manage your farm more efficiently? Don’t miss the Pork Checkoff's Producer Opportunity for Revenue and Knowledge (PORK) Academy sessions on Wednesday, June 4, and Thursday, June 5, during World Pork Expo.

"PORK Academy offers an outstanding lineup of leading experts who will address issues facing producers today," said David Ray, chair of the Checkoff's Producer and State Services Committee and a pork producer from Edenton, N.C. "These sessions will provide attendees with information to help operate their farms more effectively and to stay current on industry trends and challenges."
This year’s PORK Academy seminars, which will provide updates on Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (PEDV), sow nutrition, manure nutrient management and other industry topics. 

“World Pork Expo offers something for everyone,” said Karen Richter, National Pork Board president and a pork producer from Montgomery, Minn. “Count on the Pork Checkoff and PORK Academy for timely news you can use.”
