Changing consumer attitudes makes it more important than ever for producers to show how much they care and what they do on their farm to produce safe and healthy food.

So what does We Caresm look like on the barn level?

"The National Pork Board has created a variety of materials to help producers demonstrate their commitment to the We Caresm ethical principles," said Bryn Jensson, marketing and outreach manager for the Pork Checkoff.

There are We Caresm producer brochures that describe the proud heritage of pork and what producers are doing to show their commitment to doing what's right. There also are barn manager brochures that can be customized to highlight the ethical principles and how they can be integrated into a specific pork producer's operation. Jensson presented the We Caresm Barn Work Kits, these kits are designed to be a constant reminder of the We Caresm ethical principles for production partners and employees to help them remember to utilize the ethical principles in everything they do.

"The National Pork Board has posters that highlight each ethical principle, available in English and Spanish, that are durable enough to be displayed in the barn," said Jensson. "This is your opportunity to share your message."
